My Recogition Experience

I was in total disbelief when I opened the email to find out that I had been chosen as a Recognition Winner and invited to Athens. The Global Recognition Scheme is an initiative at CDK that gives us the opportunity to recognise a colleague who has gone above and beyond. It never crossed my mind that I would be ever be nominated, let alone win.

It had been a challenging few months as our office had been going through a restructure and there was a lot of uncertainty. This made finding out the news that I had been chosen as a winner even more special.

My experience was truly amazing and life changing. From the selection of Greek delicacies and other goodies waiting for us in our hotel rooms, to the guided tour and gala dinner in the evening, CDK did everything possible to make my time in Athens memorable.

In addition to the activities arranged for us award winners, we joined the Leadership Event and I am so grateful to have been in the same room with people who, no matter what their position, were so honest, open and down to earth. We have a dynamic company that is daring to be different and I am so proud to be a part of this journey. I soaked up so much exciting information and when I got home after the event I could not stop talking about it to my family.

I love meeting new people and learning about other cultures and my time in Athens allowed me to do just this. Athens was iconic, beautiful and friendly. A majestic city filled with history and charming neighborhoods that have a creative vibe. It was definitely a city to remember.

This recognition award has left me humbled beyond my expectations and I will forever cherish the friends that I made, the places that I have seen and the world class event that I was part of. I left Athens full of motivation to become the best of the best and ready to motivate, encourage and engage others in every possible way.
